Job description :
- Working with the Business’ Commercial team for the Region as a business partner to help identify opportunities to drive business forward and support growth opportunities and initiatives.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating strategic business agreements and transactions with specific reference to the Business.
- Providing regulatory and compliance advice in conjunction with the Regulatory and Compliance specialist areas in GE, in particular in relation to healthcare compliance and healthcare regulatory matters.
- Managing outside counsel, when brought in to assist.
- In conjunction with the other business counsel, managing / supporting the management of disputes and litigation.
- Advising and negotiating project financing with Project Lenders.
- Advising and negotiating EPC contracts and Consortium Agreements.
Qualifications/Requirements :
- JD (or equivalent) with active bar membership, preferably with a dual qualification including either US or UK law.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience at a large, preferably international, law firm or multinational company’s corporate legal department working on a variety of commercial / business legal matters in the region, including previous experience of drafting, negotiating and closing complex business transactions (i.e. purchase, sale and distribution agreements).
- Experience in Project financing is a plus.
- Previous experience in identifying and resolving legal issues quickly and effectively and ability to make on the spot risk calls.
- Previous experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast paced environment.
- Ability to communicate using English and preferably another local language as well.
- Demonstrated experience providing legal advice in a highly regulated environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated teamwork skills.
