Finance Manager - Fixed Assets (Group Finance)

Descriptif du poste :

Plan, manage and implement controls and processes necessary to manage the Fixed Assets unit (including intangible assets) for Emirate Group.

The role will be tasked with:

Managing the fixed assets ledger and related financial reporting for the Emirates Group which includes timely, accurate and consistent reporting. Improve controls in the accounting process with the changing business conditions and growth in activities to manage the Group's exposure to financial risks. This will include planning and managing the process to accurately record and measure the tangible and intangible assets of the Group and reporting on the status of capital projects.
Ensure compliance of Group policies and procedures with respect to capitalisations.
Managing the fixed assets related clearing accounts reconciliations in a timely and quality manner and avoiding surprises.
Support the different audit process (Annual, half year, ICD etc.) by ensuring the necessary audit schedules and reconciliations are timely available. Resolve any queries put forth by the auditors to smoothen the process.
Conceptualise and present appropriate levels of reports and presentations for the departments/business supported to communicate exceptions with the purpose to bring focus and attention to the exception and recommend an appropriate course of action to overcome the risks identified.
Interpretation, application and compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) to existing and new classes of fixed asset transactions. This will entail providing IFRS based solutions through a process of discussion with different business and finance units, identifying the impact and implementation with appropriate buy-in from the external units.
Provide relevant support in the road-map for the IFRS changes applicable to the fixed assets section primarily IFRS 16 'Leases'.
Taking a 'hands-on' approach to business partnering; work with other Group Finance teams to ensure appropriate financial controls and risk management frameworks are implemented related to fixed assets area.
Responsible for the periodic evaluation and implementation of fixed asset related system improvements, by recommending software developments and requirements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness while ensuring that the data quality is maintained. This entails working with the business and IT to achieve the deliverables.
Providing guidance and direction to the team.
Ensure that the performance and development of all employees managed by the jobholder are managed in a timely and effective manner which will develop their competence, style and influencing capabilities
Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) - Preferably a qualified accountant
Minimum 8 years experience in Finance & Insurance
Relevant experience in a large organisation, preferably within the travel industry
Knowledge/skills:
trong accounting and technical skills in a service company with different lines of business operating in a multiple currency environment.
Significant exposure in managing finance applications and systems
Ability to deliver continuous process improvements
Ability to analyse complex and large financial databases
